We are a proudly woman owned , home grown Zimbabwean skin care brand created by an African Queen in collaboration with skin care experts ,to provide scientifically researched and backed targeted skin care solutions, used in daily self care routines. We exist to demystify and uncover the shroud of secrecy that surrounds how to get great looking skin. As Ini Skin Care we believe in lifting the veil and empowering fellow queens by sharing skin care knowledge and delivering the products straight into their hands.

Why? Because our ethos is , all Queens deserve to have access to effective , high quality skincare products that deliver real, safe results and ultimately healthy glowing skin. We believe in Queens empowering Queens because there is room for all of us to shine. Self care is personal and the daily ritual of bathing is when a Queen takes care of her largest organ ,which is her skin.

Our products are made to prime her for the beginning of the day and to tuck her in as she rejuvenates for the night. We have made sure that our products rise to the occasion by being well formulated ,packed with the best ingredients and delivered into the skin in a highly effective manner. We have an in depth appreciation and understanding of a Queen’s life’s journey and we aim to be the provider of skincare products that boost their confidence and reaffirm them to feel beautiful and sexy in their own skin at all the different stages of life. Skin by nature changes as we grow older and our products are there to meet and match the different skincare needs for each stage of a woman’s skin. Get To Know Our Founder

Life happens and it happens to all of us . I found myself staring at a stranger l didn’t know staring back at me at the age of 38. The girl with a glint in a her eyes and dreams of conquering the world had been buried alive in the reality of day to day living as an African woman. In trying to juggle and please everyone in the role of mother , wife , in-law, sister, career woman , artist l lost me. I had an honest look at my life , faced the fact that l was miserable and that it was time to take my power and happiness into my own hands. A new life path decision came with facing a lot of stereo types and misguided judgements about my worth as a woman especially being in the public space.

As time would have it l found the Queen in me and no outside influence would dissuade me from the life choice l had made. I begun working on myself and got back to my daily self care routine love language ,which is soaking and skin care and through it mastered the art of self love. My daily bathing ritual became the act of having me-time to rejuvenate myself and spoiling my body with soaps and oils reaffirmed my worth . This created a desire for me to get back to beauty care products l once created in 2014 and sold in my shop Munhanga which l had opened back to be a feel good haven for women to shop for beauty and lingerie products.

I found myself sharing my thoughts and feelings on social media through quotes and pictures something l would have never dared to do before. The more l shared my truth , the more l found my voice, let go , forgave and healed , the more l found inner happiness. I found myself glowing owing to better self care mentally and physically. I had more Queens coming through to ask what my secret was. This made me realise there was a negative narrative on how women were perceived once past a certain age, marital status or after having given birth. This didn’t sit well with my spirit and l believe every woman is beautiful in their own way. Sometimes motherhood, life disappointments , societal expectations and life roles can push self care at the bottom of a woman’s list and she forgets to be a Queen. I don’t believe in the word “kupera” which in my mother tongue means one’s worth or value has depreciated.Such talk and mindset has disempowered and disenfranchised women and has resulted in ageism especially towards women. I wanted to awaken the Phoenix in every Queen. To empower and share this knowledge with every Queen , that they can come back from anything. What l know for sure is this ,skin is something that can be worked on and woman can glow at any age. I am not selling miracles, l am selling tangible, science based , realistic results driven products that work overtime.

I found the secret to be in a Queen’s bathing ritual and skincare routine. It falls on the products she uses and the knowledge she has. I got tired of going into shops with tonnes of products that never really delivered their promise and shop assistants that don’t know what in the world they are selling. I also got tired of women that don’t honestly share what they are using on their faces and in some cases women were using questionable products that ended up causing more harm than good. Taking matters into my own hands l sought to marry science and beauty to give women back their confidence. I wanted a product range that would be proudly Zimbabwean made from the best quality ingredients, that are effective, safe and would be a daily luxury treat.

My journey started under lock down in 2020 and l am thankful and glad to say it came full circle on the 3rd of September 2021. This range is for the Queen in every African woman. This product range was made with love from a Queen who found herself and is focused on encouraging and reminding other Queens that they matter every single day. That they are worth investing in, that each time they have their me-time they deserve it and must take care of themselves as such. Everyday a Queen must honour the essence of the special woman she is, because self care is personal. Ini- means I in my native language of Shona, the Ini skincare range is a daily reminder that “l” is important so that you show up as the best version of yourself .

I wanted to make daily luxurious skincare delights that make women feel good every day. I wanted Queens to regain their self esteem and confidence through skincare so that they can be their best in the different roles they play from nursing mums, mother,entrepreneur, career woman wife/partner or single. I wanted to create sacred personal experiences and spaces where women could find themselves again and recharge. Something personal they could splurge on and indulge in that would ensure their mental state wasn’t compromised. Queens need to be in balance and have a daily routine where they can reset and recenter, mentally, emotionally and physically. This can be effectively achieved when “I” is taken care of first.

That’s the heart of Ini Skin Care and l believe it shows. For us bathing and skin care are more than just an act, they are a critical part of the daily self care ritual essential for a Queen’s well being. Our products are made to awaken the Queen in every woman.
